Treatment Interventions
These are just a few of the treatments offered by us:
•
Iontophoresis - Medications are propelled through the skin by an electrical charge. This modality works on the
physical concept that like charges repel each other, therefore, a positively charged medication will be repelled
through the skin to the lower layers.
•
Joint Mobilization - Treatment technique used to manage musculoskeletal dysfunction. A type of passive
movement of a skeletal joint to expand the Range of Motion and eliminate restrictions.
•
Mobilization - Hands-on procedure intended to increase soft tissue.
•
Muscle Energy - Muscle energy is a direct and active technique; meaning it engages a restrictive barrier and
requires the patient’s participation for maximal effect.
•
Myofascial Release - Myofascial release is a technique that allows the fascia to remove restrictions that
impede efficient movement and use of energy for daily tasks.
•
Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation - The application of electrical stimulation to aid in improving strength.
•
Neuromuscular Therapy - Is the utilization of static pressure on specific myofascial points to relieve pain.
•
Pelvic Traction - The longitudinal/axial pull on the lumbar spine, either manual or mechanical, intermittent or
continuous. Pelvic traction may be helpful for the relief of low back pain and muscle spasm.
•
Posture Training - Instruction in the correct biomechanical alignment of the body to reduce strain.
•
Progressive Resistive Exercises - Exercises that gradually increase in resistance and in repetitions.
•
Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation - A system of manually resisted exercises performed in diagonal
patterns that mimic functional movements.
•
Strain/Counter Strain - Through body positioning to shorten a hypertonic muscle we can eliminate the muscle
spasm. This allows for elongation of the muscle fibers to their normal resting length diminishing the pathological
tension of the muscle on the bone, resulting in normalization of joint biomechanics.
•
Ultrasound - Ultrasound uses a high frequency sound wave. The sound waves cause the vibration of water
molecules deep within tissue and can help with nutrition exchange on a cellular level.
