“Your Health Our Hands”
Knee
Physical therapy for knee pain typically
means attending sessions two to three
times per week over the course of three to
six weeks, depending on the severity of
your condition.
In addition to a series of exercises, your
physical therapist may use other means to
help reduce your pain, including
alternating ice and heat and using
ultrasound, which increases blood flow
and stimulates muscles.
This video describes the anatomy and
mechanics of the knee and how pain can
originate. It is important to know what’s
really causing the pain that you’re feeling
and how to prevent further damage.
